How to set up a Custom (Sub)Domain

In order to improve your deliverability, and to not let your prospects know you're using Pitchlane, we strongly recommend to all our paid customers to set up a custom domain to host their videos on.

It's a simple process and will only take a few minutes to set up.

Please note that you must have a paid subscription plan in order to set up custom domains.

  1. Click on the Domains link in the main menu. It should take you to this page:

2. Click “Add Custom Domain” and enter the domain you would like to use. We recommend to use a subdomain, like videos.mywebsite.com or play.mywebsite.com .

3. You will then see a pop-up that looks like this. This is powered by Entri, our partner who can configure your domain settings on your behalf.

4. Entri will ask you to log into your domain registrar. The next screens will look different depending on which registrar you bought your domain from (eg. Godaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains etc). Follow the instructions provided on screen.

5. Entri will apply the domain configuration changes for you. For some providers, it cannot, but it will give you in-depth instructions on how to do this yourself.

6. It can take some time for DNS configuration changes to propagate, so allow up to 30 minutes for the domain to become active.

You will see when the domain becomes available here:

You can also use the Propagation Checker link that we provide in order to check the status of this.
