Tracking Pitchlane video viewers in your CRM/Slack with Zapier

In this guide, we will show you how you can set up Pitchlane with Zapier, to update leads that have viewed your video with a tag in a CRM. You can use this as a base example to create more complex flows.


  1. Be sure you have accepted the invite to use Pitchlane’s Zapier app: https://zapier.com/developer/public-invite/168420/035f6a3ac5761364068e00f3413eb35f/
  2. Go to zapier (https://zapier.com/app/zaps) and Create a new Zap
  3. Seach for Pitchlane.

  4. Click Pitchlane and select the “Video Viewed” event and click “Continue”.

  5. Sign into pitchlane (or, if you’ve already done this before in a Zap, select the account you want to use from the dropdown) and then click “Continue”

  6. Select your campaign from the list, and click Continue.

    You can only set up a zap for one campaign. If you’d like the zap to cover multiple campaigns, you need to create multiple zaps. Don’t worry, you can duplicate this one once you’ve finished it.

  7. You should now see the following screen

  8. Go to you campaign, find one of its rendered videos, and click “Copy link for social outreach”.

  9. Paste this link into your browser. Do NOT use the preview link as this will not trigger the zap!!
  10. Go back to Zapier and click “Test trigger”. After a few seconds you should see this:

    If you don’t see this, either something has not been set up correctly in the previous steps, or you did not open the video using the correct link.

  11. Click continue
  12. Now you can set up subsequent steps, eg to update the lead in your CRM or outreach tool.

    You can then use fields from the video in the settings for the next steps, like this:
